Pain Free Dentistry

It’s not a myth. A trip to the dentist – whether it be routine or for a dental problem – does not have to be painful.

I practice what’s called minimally invasive dentistry, otherwise known as pain free dentistry. It’s a technique driven by advances in dental technology – like single-visit restoration, air abrasion, and laser dentistry. And, not only are these tools pain free, they allow me to perform dental procedures more precisely and efficiently.

Single-Visit Crowns

Single-visit restoration has revolutionized the way I restore decayed and damaged teeth. While traditional dental restorations require many appointments and painful injections, the single-visit restoration technique allows me to complete the restoration of your tooth in just one appointment. There are no additional injections or impressions! This type of restoration is also free of metal – which means no ugly silver fillings.

For patients who are anxious about getting a crown, this new technology means less time spent in the dental chair.

Air Abrasion

I’ve written about the virtues of air abrasion many times. The technique – which uses tiny particles to remove tooth decay – eliminates the need for anesthetic injections and dental drills. Air abrasion also reduces vibration and heat – which are two major sources of discomfort and pain that is associated with dental drilling.

Laser Dentistry

Another example of pain-free dentistry is Laser Bacterial Reduction, or LBR.

LBR reduces the amount of bacteria pooling in your mouth – and body – by decontaminating your teeth and gums. The lasers penetrate the soft tissue and kill bacteria. LBR reduces tooth decay and is a proven preventative measure against periodontal disease.

This painless process is conducted by our hygienists. And, it adds only a few extra minutes to the normal cleaning process.

Dentistry That Doesn’t Hurt

Take comfort in knowing that receiving high-quality dental care can now be done pain free. If you suffer from dental anxiety, tell me about your concerns. I can offer you painless dental treatment options that will leave you comfortable – and smiling.
