Intra-Oral Cameras Give a Clear Picture of What’s Inside Your Mouth

Patients think they know what their teeth and the inside of their mouths look like simply by opening wide in front of a mirror. Truth is, they don’t know the half of it.

The only way to get an accurate picture of the inside of your mouth is with an intra-oral camera.

This isn’t something you can buy at the drug store. These high-tech cameras are used professionally in our office to give patients a true picture of our patients’ teeth.

An intra-oral camera is about as small as a pen and is placed inside a patient’s mouth. It’s attached to a computer or television monitor and comes with a disposable plastic sheath for contamination prevention. The camera allows us to take a video of a patient’s mouth. The video is then transmitted via a cable to a TV screen and can be viewed by both the patient and myself.

It’s quick. It’s painless. And, it’s interesting!

Patients often marvel at what our intra-oral cameras reveal. Together, all of us can see if there are problems brewing, like cavities, gum disease, and other oral conditions. We can get an up-close look at pesky canker sores. We can get a realistic picture of the patient’s dental hygiene.

Intra-oral cameras allow our office to diagnose problems WITH patients so that we can work TOGETHER toward improvement.

We are proud and excited to offer intra-oral camera viewing in this practice. And, if you’ve haven’t seen the technology before – we promise to introduce you to it at your next visit.
