2 Ways to Make Your Smile Look Years Younger

Dentist CA PasadenaSince cosmetic dentistry is one of our specialties, my team is trained to help you look and feel your best. Many of our patients who want to look younger take advantage of our customized teeth whitening sessions, and they also want to hear ways they can age-proof their smiles at home.

While there’s no magic bullet for turning back the clock, here are two subtle ways you can make your teeth and smile look years younger.

1. Invisalign

Sure, you probably had orthodontics when you were younger, but unless you’ve been sleeping with a retainer since your braces came off, your teeth have probably shifted. Teeth have memory in their fibers, so the minute you get your braces off, they head back for their original spots.

Invisalign is a great tool to help get your teeth looking straight again. Its customized clear plastic trays apply pressure at the appropriate points to move teeth into alignment with virtually no discomfort.

2. Brush correctly.

Not to sound like a broken record, but brushing your teeth correctly can fix more than half the problems going on inside your mouth. Years of plaque buildup and aggressive brushing wear away at your sensitive gum line, making it look receded. Plus, aging decreases the flow of saliva, which helps to wash away plaque-causing bacteria.

Solution: At least two times a day, use a soft-bristle toothbrush (it’s gentler on gums than a firm one) to gently massage your teeth in small circular motions along the front, back, and sides.

Remember, wen you meet someone, one of the first things you notice is their smile. Teeth are the most visual feature on your face, so take the time to make them look their best. And, if you don’t know how – we’re here to help.
