We Can Treat Your Migraine Headaches

There is nothing worse than a head-splitting migraine. And, it can be equally frustrating when you don’t know how to get rid of it.

Good news. We do.

Migraine treatment is among my various specialities. Yes, that’s right. As I dentist, I can treat your migraines and chronic headaches in our office.

Without getting too scientific in describing the clinical reason for migraines, I will say that my ultimate goal in migraine prevention is to limit the amount of migraine triggers – such as jaw clenching and teeth grinding.

To do this, there are three types of treatments that have been extremely successful. The first is the NTI-tss Dental Device. It is the only FDA cleared non-drug, non-surgical method for treating and preventing migraines. I custom-fit the device so that it creates contact between your front teeth only. Preventing molar and canine contact is key in stopping jaw clenching and teeth grinding. The NTI device fits comfortably on either the upper or lower front teeth. It is generally worn during sleep, but for severe migraine sufferers there is a more discreet version for daytime use.

The second type of migraine treatment device I may use is called the Maxillary B-Splint. It is a very thin retainer which also works to stop the back teeth from interacting. This is worn at night or for 24 hours a day depending on the severity of the case.

The third method of treatment is to balance your bite. I use T-Scan III so you bite down evenly throughout your mouth.

If you suffer from migraines or chronic headaches it’s imperative that you give us a call. We can discuss an affordable treatment option that is right for you.
