Life changed for one man in Ireland recently after a dentist removed 27 decayed teeth from his mouth — all rotten from his addiction to soda.
32-year-old Michael Sheridan says he had been living in constant pain for the last ten years. The pain from his rotted teeth was so bad in fact, Sheridan say he was living on a diet of soft foods because even a bite of sandwich left him in excruciating pain.
The Culprit?
Sheridan admits most of his teeth became decayed because of his soda habit which led him to drink as much as one-and-a-half gallons of soda a day!
Knowing that his teeth were a serious threat to his overall health, Sheridan’s dentist waived his normal dental fees, and offered to surgically remove the teeth right away. 27 of them. The decision to go forward with the dental procedure was a big one for Sheridan, but it was life changing.
“I used to keep my teeth hidden and talk as little as possible to people. If I was out with friends, I’d sit further back when talking because I was conscious of my bad breath,” he said.
“The kids in the family started noticing my teeth so I went back into my shell even further.”
Gave up Soda
Sheridan is now smiling with confidence. He wears dentures now so his gums can heal. This spring he will be back in the dentist chair to get twelve dental implants as well as bridges inserted. Sheridan has also committed to giving up soft drinks. He says he hasn’t had one fizzy drink since his surgery.
Incredible story.
