Innovative Reward System
The Android app pitches itself as a way to improve dental health and foster cooperation between dentists and their patients through an intensive 3-month program in an engaging environment. Through reminders, notifications, voice navigation, music accompaniment and tutorials, users are supported on the road to improving their dental hygiene and thus, form healthy habits.
Only after maintaining a proper routine for the 3-month period, users are rewarded with Dentacoin tokens, which they can later use for paying for dental services, and dental care products.
Through the Dentacoin app, its developers hope both adults and children will be motivated to improve not only their dental health, but also their overall health.
Who takes Dentacoin?
Not many dentists, it turns out.
According to Dentacoin’s backers, as many as 6,000 people are already making use of the Dentacoin system – but it’s unclear if any dental practices in the U.S. are participating – or ever will.
Will Dentacoin revolutionize the dental industry and patient care? Probably not. But we commend this attempt nonetheless.
